Dear Lincoln School Community,

Today, our students joined with those throughout the District and across the world to participate in “Global School Play Day.” It was a fun day filled with board games, arts and crafts, and group activities as students shared their interests and passions with one another. Research reflects a great value in the participation by children in unstructured play, and it also teaches us about our students while helping to build community. In the words of Plato, “You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.” We already can’t wait for the next GSPD!

I’d like to wish a happy National School Counselors Week to our school counselor, Mrs. Soriano. We are grateful for all of her hard work and dedication on behalf of the entire school community, and lucky to have her at Lincoln School!

With Valentine’s Day approaching, as a reminder, students may bring in Valentine’s Day cards for their classmates, but we are not permitted to distribute cards that have candy, chocolates, etc., attached to them. Instead, students may add a non-edible item such as a sticker, pencil, etc. if they so choose. If students do bring in Valentine’s, please ensure that they have one for each member of the class.

The Lincoln School Student Council invites you to “Be the Change” by participating in our “Super Bowl Food Drive Competition!” The Drive will be held from February 3rd through February 14th.  Every grocery item donated will help local families in need through Social Services.  Our teams will compete to see who collects the most grocery items.  Each team will have a labeled box in the Multipurpose Room.  No expired dates please, and thank you in advance for your contribution. Please click here to view the flyer for additional information.

We welcome our families to join us for Lincoln Family Game Night tonight at 6:30 pm at Lincoln School. Prizes and fun for all! Walk-ins welcome (cash only, please). We hope to see you there!

The Scooter Football Playoff game between teams 1 and 3 will be rescheduled to Monday, February 10th immediately after school. If there are any weather interruptions to the schedule during next week, we will follow up with any further changes. Scooter Bowl XXX is scheduled to be played on Friday 2/14 at 1:30.  Best of luck to all the teams!

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the BIG GAME!

Sincerely,

Patrick Lee
Principal
