Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope that you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Our staff returned to school last week for the final preparations of the start of the 2026-2027 school year. Please see several reminders, sent in last week’s E-blast, regarding the opening of school.
As you know, the first day is tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8th. This is a minimum day, with a 1:05 pm dismissal. Please note some important information:
School Hours
Regular Day: 8:50 am - 3:20 pm
Minimum Day: 8:50 am - 1:05 pm (No lunch for grades 1-5. Kindergarten students should bring lunch on minimum days. There is no Francesca Lunch Box or PTO lunch service on minimum days.)
Delayed Opening Day: 10:20 am - 3:20 pm (Lunch served for all students grades K-5.)
Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
Supervision for students begins at 8:35 am. Please do not drop your student off prior to 8:35 am. Students may enter through the door by the Kindergarten awning, adjacent to the sidewalk, or through the Gr. 3/4 or Primary Wing doors, beginning at 8:35. From 8:35 - 8:40, students will line up, supervised, outside their classroom doors, and at 8:40 may enter the classroom to begin preparing for the school day. On the first day of school only, September 8th, however, students will line up outside beginning at 8:35 and be greeted by their classroom teachers, who will bring them into the school building at 8:40 am. Signs will indicate each HR's lineup location for this first day. The school day begins at 8:50 am with Morning Meeting in each classroom. Please note that announcements and Morning Meeting will begin promptly, so make every effort to ensure your child is at school on time. It is critical that students are at school and ready to learn!
Students will be dismissed from school at 3:20 pm. The first day, however, is a minimum day with a 1:05 pm dismissal. Kindergarten students will be dismissed out the door by the Kindergarten awning. Gr. 1 and 2 will be dismissed out the primary wing door by Rodney Road. Grades 3 and 4 will be dismissed out the Gr. 3/4 door along the back driveway, and Gr. 5 will be dismissed out the door near the back of the media center.
Lunch/Recess
Gr. 1-5 students will eat lunch in the multipurpose room. Kindergarten students eat lunch in their classrooms. Francesca’s Lunch Box will continue this year as a lunch vendor, and our PTO will offer Wednesday Pizza Lunch from Natale’s as well as bagels from Goldberg’s Bagels on Mondays and Jersey Mike’s subs on Thursdays. Information will be sent from our PTO and in our e-blasts about these two programs, which will begin shortly after the start of the year.
This year, students in grades 1 & 2, and students in grades 3 & 4, will go to recess and eat lunch together. Grade 5 students will go to recess and eat lunch as a single grade level. Kindergarten students will eat lunch in their classrooms and go to recess at the Kindergarten recess area.

As sent in an email last week from Mrs. Husstege, Bookends Bookstore has helped us arrange an exciting experience for our students to kick off our school year of reading. Families have the opportunity to preorder Dav Pilkey’s Dog Man: A Sprinkle in Time, Book 15 in the Dog Man series. Our students will also get to enjoy a special Bark to School Assembly featuring a visit from Scholastic’s very own Dog Man. We’re adding a little extra Dog Man fun, too! All students will have a chance to win Dog Man-inspired prizes which will be on display in the library leading up to the event. Books will be delivered on the release date of 11/3/26. The flyer for this event, indicating an ordering deadline of September 15th, may be found here. Purchase the book for $16 via the link here.
Our Student Council is inviting all students and staff to wear red, white, and blue on Friday, September 11th, in recognition of Patriot Day. On this day, we remember the many Americans and residents of Wyckoff who lost their lives on September 11th. We keep all those in the Lincoln School community who were affected by the events of this day in our thoughts.
Finally, I am excited for the start of another school year and the opportunities that lie ahead. I thank our staff for their tremendous work in preparing for the year, and our families and community for their support of Lincoln School. Have a wonderful Labor Day, and I look forward to seeing our Lincoln Lions tomorrow morning!
Sincerely,
Patrick Lee
Principal
