Dear Washington Wizards,
As we head into our final full week of December, it’s hard to believe we’ve already completed the first third of the school year. Over the past few weeks, our building has been full of joy as students and staff celebrated a variety of traditions, classroom parties, and seasonal activities. These moments of connection and celebration are a special part of our school community, and we’re grateful to share them with your children as we wrap up this busy and exciting stretch of the year.
Shout-Outs & Spotlights
Winter Cheer - A huge round of applause to our 4th and 5th-grade students for their outstanding performance at the Winter Concert! Their dedication, evident in early morning practices and at-home rehearsals, truly paid off with a wonderful show. A special thank you to Mrs. Manzo for her work in preparing the students for this fantastic event.
Book Buddies Besties - Shout out to the first and fifth-grade teachers for organizing this week's fantastic Book Buddy experience! The event was truly memorable, with first graders collaborating with their fifth-grade buddies to construct models of buildings within our community. We also appreciate the parents who contributed materials from home to make this activity a success!
Sharing Traditions - We extend a huge thank you to our dedicated class parents and all the other parents who volunteered over the past few weeks! Your time and effort in sharing family traditions, hosting parties, and bringing holiday joy to our students is greatly appreciated.
Reminders for Families
Great news! We're seeing real progress across the school in both Language Arts and Math, according to our middle of year iReady diagnostic. This success is thanks to your children's hard work and our staff's focused and consistent teaching. Results are now available online and directions on how to access the scores were emailed earlier today.
As a reminder, all Wyckoff Schools will have a minimum day on December 23rd with a 1:05 dismissal.
Please continue to send your children to school dressed warmly for winter weather. We will get outside for fresh air as often as conditions allow.
Get ready to count down to Winter Break with exciting spirit days! Join the fun when you can:
Monday 12/22 - Marvelous Monday: Sparkle and shine with your favorite holiday hat or accessories
Tuesday 12/23 - Tucked-In Tuesday: Wear your coziest holiday pajama (no slippers please)
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
Sincerely,
Kelly O’Brien
