Dear Washington Wizards,

As I walked around the building this week, I was once again struck by the incredible growth your students have made this year. From our kindergarteners crafting stories about their emotions, to our second grade stories about special moments, and our fifth graders producing entire books of poetry. When you visit the building next, take a moment to admire their work displayed throughout the school; you are raising some truly remarkable kids. The energy and focus of your students are palpable, and the progress they have made since the start of the school year is nothing short of incredible!

Shout-Outs & Spotlights

BRRRRR - A big thank you and shout-out to our excellent maintenance team for their hard work on snow removal this past Monday! Will this weekend’s storm come?? We’ll see….

Let’s Learn! - Shout out to all our Washington teachers who have shared their expertise by leading 'In-Service Courses' for colleagues across the district so far this year. Their commitment to continuous learning helps us all get better for our students. Thank you - Mrs. Ascrizzi, Mrs. Ramirez, Ms. Cassella, Mrs. Marrero, and Mrs. Troast!!

Reminders for Families

Friendly reminder: All parents must park in a designated spot in the lower lot. Please do not park on yellow lines, as this makes it difficult for families to exit and causes traffic jams. Be mindful and pull fully into a designated parking space.

The annual Washington Science Fair, a long-standing tradition, is coming soon! It is scheduled for Wednesday, February 11th, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. We extend our gratitude to Mrs. Baykowski and Mrs. Goodman for coordinating this year's event. I am excited to see the science knowledge and passion shared by many of our 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students!

The next Family Connection Series presentation sponsored by the Wyckoff Curriculum Council will be held in 2 weeks on February 3rd at 7pm at Eisenhower Middle School. This session, entitled "Raising Resilience," will explore resiliency--what it is, the factors that contribute to resiliency, and how parents can grow resiliency in their children.
