Dear Washington Wizards,
As we move deeper into March, our days are getting brighter—and so is the creativity around our school! This week, we invite you to keep that spark glowing at home. Whether it’s building, drawing, dancing, or dreaming up a brand-new game together, creativity can show up in the simplest moments. Sometimes the most meaningful memories come from those spontaneous bursts of imagination that turn an ordinary afternoon into something special.
Reminders for Families
Reminder that Monday, March 16th, is a minimum day for students with a 1:05 dismissal.
Starting Monday, we will join all four elementary schools in celebrating Neurodiversity Week. On March 16th, we invite all students and staff to celebrate by wearing tie-dye!
As the weather gets warmer, we’d like to remind everyone of our school dress code expectations. Students should wear clothing that is comfortable, and appropriate for learning. For warm-weather highlights of our Policy, please see below. The full list is available here. The following garments and articles are prohibited in school:
Extremely low-cut, tight fitting or transparent clothes, bare midriffs, and suggestive clothing;
Bare feet, unsafe footwear, cleated shoes, and footwear intended for the beach (this includes flip-flops, crocs and backless uggs/shoes);
Nonprescription sunglasses, glazed, and tinted glasses, except as prescribed by the student's doctor;
Hats, hoods, visors, headbands and other headgear; and
Any clothing that is likely to create a material and substantial disruption to the school environment.

We can't believe we are already halfway through The Lost Library! This shared reading experience has prompted many wonderful discussions during our Morning Meetings in class. Do you remember what was left of the library after the fire? Don't forget to read chapter 23 to be ready for Monday's question!
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
Sincerely,
Kelly O’Brien
