Dear Washington Wizards,
⭐ Laying the Foundation: A Message from Mrs. O’Brien
As we settle into the rhythm of a new school year, we are turning our attention to one of the most important bricks in our foundation: belonging. At Washington, we want every child to know that they have a place here, that they are valued, and that their presence makes our school community stronger. Belonging is built in the little moments—sitting beside someone new, inviting a classmate to join in, noticing when someone needs a friend, and making room for every voice. This week, we will be reminding our students that building something great means making sure everyone has a place in what we are building. When each of us reaches out, includes others, and helps one another feel connected, we create the kind of community where our students can truly grow and shine.
🧱Bricks of Brilliance: Shout-Outs & Spotlights
A heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful families who joined us for Back to School Night this week! It was such a joy sharing and connecting with each of you.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first PTO meeting! It was wonderful seeing so many of you. The strong connection between our families and the school is vital to our students' success, and I am deeply grateful for the PTO's support. We hope to see many of you at the next meeting on October 13 at 9:15 am.
🔨 Tools for Success: Reminders for Families

We hope you’ll join us tonight on the field for Movie Night! Make sure to purchase your ticket in the group spot app. See you there!
Band demonstrations took place on Wednesday for our 4th and 5th graders to explore different instrument options. Please be sure to complete registration by the deadline, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Band rehearsals will kick off the week of September 28.
Our online "Friday Folder" is a depository of important notices, flyers, and letters from the school and Wyckoff community. Please be sure to check the list of Friday Folder documents, which is included in each weekly E-Blast, and carefully read those that are pertinent to you and your child(ren). There is a link in each E-Blast to the electronic Friday Folder, which can also be accessed at any time.
Sincerely,
Kelly O’Brien, Principal
