Mr. Blake and Students in Outdoor Classroom

Welcome to Washington School! We are proud to be celebrating 101 years of Wizard Pride and the distinction of being the first school in town! Our 5th Grade Students created our theme for the year - "101, and we are still having F.U.N.! - Friends, Unity, Neighborhood."

As Principal, I am fortunate to work with a professional staff that is dedicated, talented, and caring as they work tirelessly to continue providing the outstanding programs and instruction that distinguish us. Our primary concern is our students' academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being. As a staff, we are dedicated to meeting the needs of the whole child, designing real-life applications of instructional concepts, fostering the values of caring and respect, and creating an atmosphere where children feel safe, nurtured, and supported.

We recognize that our greatest asset is our student body. We hope they develop and maintain confidence in themselves as learners and valued participants in this community. We anticipate they will grow to be happy and productive citizens who can work with others and look beyond themselves. Most of all, we are optimistic that they will emerge with the knowledge that there is always room and time to grow.

We can accomplish this by establishing an environment for learning that promotes cooperation, caring, and communication. The construction of this learning environment requires the active participation of all members of our school community - students, educators, and parents. Together, we can build a place where children can reach their dreams!

I look forward to working with you.
