4th grade artists learned about value and it makes our art look more realistic. We created value backgrounds of blue, and turned them into oceans with jellyfish! We used chalk pastels to make them look translucent!

In 3rd, we discussed the artist Mary Blair and how she got her start at Walt Disney Studios and created “It’s a Small World”! Inspired by her colors, we created our own castle collages with patterns!

2nd Graders, learned about the artist Lucy Tiffney and how she creates beautiful artwork of flowers and vines using just LINES! We took her as inspiration and painted different floral backgrounds then create flower collages on top!

In 1st, we listen to the Big Orange Splot and learned that it is okay to be different and create your ideas! We then learned about Tyree Guyton and how he transforms abandoned houses into works of art! Inspired, we created our own Dream Houses!

In KD, we discussed how Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream for making our world a better place.
Through this craft, our Washington School kindergarteners were able to share their visions for the world 🤗🌎

In K, we learned what a collage is and how artists use different materials to create a layered artwork. We picked one color and make a collage of different versions of that color and described why we chose that color and what it reminds us of!

KRO plays rock paper scissors to show the story of 5

After reading the book "Down the Road" by Alice Schertle, the children in KK were challenged during Makerspace to design some type of carrier or basket that could hold up to 3 eggs without tipping. Testing the creations was the most fun! 🥚
